I was invited to visit, take photos and paint portraits of the children in the cancer ward, in Cairo Egypt. The experience was equally devastating and uplifting. When I returned home, I immediately started to paint from the photos I had taken, the emotions I felt, the beauty and humanity conveyed on these small faces . I decided to leave the paintings raw and unfinished.
